narwhals
The narwhal' s tusks can get up to 3 meter' s long. A male narwhal can weigh about 1,600 kilograms and a females can weigh up to 1,000 kilograms. The narwhal pray on squid and on such fish like cod and halibut. The narwhals only live in the arctic and have the belugas as friends. The narwhals are about 4-5 meters long.
National Resorses
Nunavut can trade you fish, meat, fur and oil, gas. The fish they catch for food and the meat they kill the animals for food, the fur from the animals they use as cloths to keep warm, the oil they have to drill in the ground to get and the gas they get out of the ground. They have not got the oil and gas because it was so deep down in the ground.
Major Landforms
The tallest point in Nunavut is Barbeau peak. Barbeau peak is 2,616m (8,583 ft.) high on the northern end of Ellesmere Island. Named in 1969 after Dr. Marius Barbeau who was a Canadian anthropologist who gained international acclaim for his research into the First Nations and Inuit culture.
Nunavut is made of a lot of islands, rocks, plants, snow and ice. In Nunavut it is almost always winter because half of Nunavut is in the Arctic circle. Nunavut 's flower is an arctic poppy. The snow and ice can be formed in lots of different ways by the cold breeze that sweep' s across the winter snow. When all the snow melts, all the rocks from under the ice come up and flowers will start to blume and the lands are very colourful, but rough. In Nunavut there are no trees because it is so cold that the roots of the trees can not grow.
